According to the Secretaría de Economía, (Mexican Ministry of Economy) these are some important facts regarding trade between Mexico and Canada between January and April, 2009:
- Trade recorded USD $6 billion four times higher since 1993;
- Mexico represents the fifth largest market for Canada;
- Exports from Canada to Mexico reached USD $2.1 billion;
- The average annual growth rate export of Canada into Mexico was 12.4 % since April 1993;
- The three main Canadian products imported in Mexico were cellular phones, drilling machinery part and parts for vehicles ignition;
- Mexico is the third gratest supplier for Canadian Market;
